    Lyme Regis and Charmouth

Post  Ammo Al on Wed Dec 05, 2012 11:06 pm

Just got back from a short stay in Charmouth and to be quite honest we had a great week with the weather and some good finds . Katie found a lovely small piece of Icthy jaw bone with teeth both sides in the shingle.

and my pride and joy for the week/year/life was an 84ib nodule with a massive Ammonite inside..forty minutes to dig it out of the clay and another hour to get it off the beach. cheers

I have just started to take the bulk of the matrix off and unfortunately it is a typical bircii nodule as it has calcite lines radiating through it and the ammo is collapsed in pplaces..never mind it is still a wonderful object . I will post pics soon . Alan
